Sucks doesn't it. Sacrifice is so much easier. We get to choose the time and place, as well as what we will give up. Usually anyways.
God on the other hand, prefers obedience. If you love me you will keep my commands. No control here. Just do what your told, when your told. Even though we come to understand that God's directives are there to protect us, we find it hard to obey.
The heart is desperately wicked, who can know it... We say we love God and convince ourselves it is so. But, He says, if you love me you will obey.
What are you doing or not doing that God is clearly directive about? What are you doing or not doing that the Spirit has spoken to you about?
Will you obey?
Do you love God?
