Get The Picture?

Yesterday, Peter and Donna Jordan joined us for church at The OD. They shared with us and encouraged us. Donna created a great word picture of how the Bride of Christ treats the groom sometimes.

She said imagine you are the
groom" waiting at the front of a church for your bride to come down the isle. The bridesmaids come down and then the flower girl, and you wait with expectation for your bride. Then, she appears, dressed in grubby jeans and a t-shirt. she walks in, but does not have her eyes fixed on you, but rather is checking out all the other men in the church to see if she might be missing out on something better. Imagine how you would feel.

That is sometimes the way we treat Christ. Is He really our hearts desire? Do we have eyes, only for Him?
